Jasyn Lucas

My art reflects the environment around us, its natural wonders and inhabitants, in such a rich part of the world.

Jasyn Lucas was born in Flin Flon Manitoba, May 3rd 1979, He grew up In Thompson Manitoba and graduated from R.D parker Collegiate in 1997. In the summer of 1998 Jasyn moved to Vancouver where he would later be accepted in to The Studio Art Program at Capilano College, in North Vancouver. He graduated in 2003 and returned to Thompson a year later where he has been diving into many different applications in art.

The Studio Art Program is a diverse program with many options, Jasyn studied printmaking, painting, drawing, sculpture and Art History.

" Right now the important thing for me is to enjoy exploring the art and enjoy the experiences of finding my way to the application I love the most, and will focus on in the future".

Some of Jasyns successes have included both paid and volunteer time with organizations such as The Thompson Boys and Girls Club, The Northern Circle of Youth, Thompson Neighbours Corporation, North Central Development , Thompson Spirit Way, Precambrian Art Gallery, Coporate and non-profit commissioned murals for such organizations as McDonalds Restaurant, INCO Limited, Royal Canadian Legion, University College of the North.

Experience with the public is an important way for Jasyn to communicate his love for art and its mission. He had shown this through attending conferences and workshops , teaching Graphic Arts at R.D Parker Collegiate in Thompson, Manitoba, and having a close relationship with the local community through art shows and public speaking events.
